Asia Transpacific Journeys Announces
2008 Small Group Trips for travel to Asia and the Pacific

BOULDER, CO, July 2007 – A company that’s been creating itineraries for travel to the Asia and the Pacific Region for over 20 years has perfected the management of that most precious commodity, time.

By meticulously honing each unique itinerary—a process that can take months or even years—the team at Asia Transpacific Journeys  (http://www.AsiaTranspacific.com ) allows the potential of each destination to flourish, showcasing world-famous sights as well as lesser-known jewels.

“We maximize our travelers’ opportunities for cultural immersion and extraordinary experiences by combining seamless logistics with in-depth destination knowledge and lovely lodging,” says Downing Staff, CEO. “The result is a well-orchestrated itinerary that is full but not rushed, comprehensive but not overwhelming, and delightfully refined at day’s end.”

Asia Transpacific Journeys has already scheduled some of its 2008 Small Group Trips, including Bhutan, Burma, China, Tibet and Thailand.

Downing Staff says the Royal Thailand itinerary is a fine example of their in-depth approach. Travelers explore by boat, elephant, bamboo raft, sea canoe, bicycle, foot, plane, and car. The journey features the most important festival in Thailand, spiritual and joyful Loy Krathong. At the end of each day’s adventure they enjoy boutique resorts in traditional style that embody the tranquil elegance and stylish luxury of the east.

“We see countries through these slower modes of travel, literally immersing ourselves in the landscape and rubbing elbows with villagers going about their daily routines,” she says.

Small Group Trips (maximum 16 guests) range from 11 to 17 days and start at $4,395 per person (double and depending on destination) for land costs that include highest end accommodations, nearly all meals, transfers, visa fees, tips, entrance fees, medical and emergency insurance and a comprehensive pre-departure packet. Asia Transpacific Journeys can also arrange international air through its in-house air department.

Asia Transpacific Journeys has been crafting private Custom Journeys and Small Group Trips to the Asia/Pacific region since 1987.

Says CEO Downing Staff: “Our intimate, in-depth style promotes cross-cultural understanding, encourages environmental sustainability, and fulfills long-held personal dreams.” She notes that Asia Transpacific Journeys regional expertise also makes Asia Transpacific Journeys the operator of choice for dozens of America’s most demanding universities and museums.

For 2007 Asia Transpacific Journeys itineraries of Small Group Trips and Custom Journeys encompass over 20 countries in North Asia, South Asia, SE Asia and the Pacific. Some trips also support global conservation and cultural preservation. Asia Transpacific Journeys own non-profit Asia Transpacific Foundation, established in 1998, works with rural Asian communities to provide clean drinking water through locally made ceramic water filters. ATJ is also a partner with the World Wildlife Fund; it incorporates UNESCO World Heritage sites into its itineraries.

National Geographic Traveler (Oct 2006) has selected Asia Transpacific Journeys’ Myanmar Trip as one of “50 Tours of a Lifetime”
