Accommodations and Dining

What will my accommodations be like?
We typically book deluxe, culturally authentic accommodations for our travelers. In more remote areas they are the best available in each location. We can also work with those on a budget, and strive to ensure beyond-the-ordinary accommodations for all our travelers.

What type of food should I expect?
Asia is a cuisine destination par excellence, and in the vast majority of the countries in our region the delectable food will be a highlight of your journey. Exceptions include Mongolia, Bhutan and Tibet, and some islands in the South Pacific, where quality and variety are generally not on par with other countries in the region. Nonetheless, tasty, serviceable fare is readily available in these locales as well. Australia and New Zealand offer a wide spectrum of good to great options, similar to those found in the U.S.

I have special meal requests. Can these be accommodated?
Most meal requests can be accommodated throughout most parts of the Asia/Pacific region, including no dairy, low sodium, vegetarian, vegan, etc. Kosher restrictions can generally not be accommodated, with few exceptions. In locales such as Mongolia and to a lesser extent in Tibet, Bhutan, and areas of western China, accommodating any restrictions at all may be difficult. Travelers with severe allergic reactions, particularly to peanuts or shellfish, should call before booking.
