| Our Clean Water Initiative The past few years have seen the Asia Transpacific Foundation concentrating its efforts on our highly successful Clean Water Initiative (it’s so inexpensive and effective that UNICEF has begun funding educational and distribution campaigns, though our Foundation actually funds production of the filters). Production facilities are currently operating in Thailand and Myanmar (Burma); the goal is to spread the benefits of this new but simple and renewable technology throughout India, Indonesia and beyond. Here is how they work: Simple clay filters are locally produced using affordable, indigenous materials. Jobs are created at the production facility, the management of which, after initial launch, is turned over to the local workers. The filters are distributed and health rates soar, particularly among children. View a slideshow to see how this process works.

100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly to the project! Each dollar buys a few bricks and some clay, a kiln is built, filters are fired, and lives are saved. It’s that simple.
